Nouri — Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 8, 2026
Summary. Nouri is designed with privacy at its core. Your nutrition profile, health data, and scan history are stored locally on your device and never uploaded to our servers. Food images are processed through a third-party AI service for analysis and are not retained by us. We do not sell your data.
1. Information We Collect
Nouri is designed to provide personalized nutrition intelligence while collecting minimal data. Below is a complete overview of the data categories involved when you use Nouri.
1.1 Nutrition profile (stored locally on your device only)
- Health and fitness goals: calorie targets, macronutrient targets (protein, carbohydrates, fat), goal weight, and activity level
- Dietary preferences: diet type selections such as halal, vegan, keto, gluten-free, vegetarian, and other dietary frameworks
- Sensitivities and intolerances: ingredients you flag as triggers (e.g., lactose, gluten, FODMAPs, specific additives)
- Avoided ingredients: specific ingredients you choose to exclude from your diet
- Daily food log: a record of items you have scanned during the day, including estimated calorie and macronutrient values
All nutrition profile data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's on-device storage frameworks (SwiftData). This data is never transmitted to E2 Partners, our servers, or any third party, except as described in Section 3 (AI Processing) below.
1.2 Food images (processed temporarily, not stored)
- Photos you scan: when you use the Label Scanner or Meal Scanner features, the image you capture is sent to a third-party AI service (OpenAI) for analysis. The image is processed to identify food items, read ingredient labels, and estimate nutritional content.
- Images are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and are processed in real time. We do not store your food images on any server. OpenAI's data retention policies apply to their processing of the image — see Section 5 for details.
1.3 Chat messages (processed temporarily)
- When you use the "Ask Nouri" chat feature, your messages are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. Your nutrition profile is included as context to personalize responses.
- Chat history is stored locally on your device. Message content is not retained on our servers.
1.4 Purchase information
- Subscription status: managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details, billing addresses, or any financial information.
1.5 Device and usage data
- Device information: device type, operating system version, app version, and device identifiers (such as IDFA, collected only with your consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt)
- Usage analytics: anonymous app events such as app launches, scan counts, feature usage, and subscription events may be collected for product improvement purposes
1.6 Camera and Photo Library access
- Nouri requests access to your device camera to scan barcodes, food labels, and meals. Camera access is used solely for the scanning functionality described in this policy.
- If you choose to scan an image from your photo library, Nouri requests Photo Library access. Images selected are used only for the scan and are not copied, uploaded, or stored beyond the immediate analysis.
We do not require account creation. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Nouri Service, including personalized nutrition scoring and AI-powered food analysis
- Process food images and chat queries through AI services to deliver personalized nutrition grades and recommendations
- Manage your subscription status and restore purchases across devices via Apple StoreKit and RevenueCat
- Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (only with your explicit consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt)
- Respond to support enquiries sent to hello@e2partners.co
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
3. AI Processing and Third-Party Data Handling
Nouri uses OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API to analyze food images and provide personalized nutrition advice. When you perform a scan or use the chat feature:
- Your food image (for scans) or text message (for chat) is sent to OpenAI's servers via encrypted HTTPS connection
- Your nutrition profile (goals, sensitivities, dietary preferences, avoided ingredients, and daily intake summary) is sent alongside the image as context for personalization
- OpenAI processes the data and returns a nutrition analysis, which is displayed in the app
Important. Nouri uses OpenAI's API with the zero-data-retention configuration. Under OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted through the API is not used to train or improve OpenAI's models. Images and text submitted for processing are retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for trust and safety monitoring, after which they are deleted. For full details, refer to OpenAI's API Data Usage Policy.
No health data, nutrition profiles, or food images are transmitted to E2 Partners' own servers at any point.
4. Local Data Storage
The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third-party platform:
- Your nutrition profile (goals, macro targets, sensitivities, dietary preferences, avoided ingredients)
- Your scan history (products scanned, grades received, dates)
- Your chat history with Nouri
- Your daily food log and macro tracking data
- Your app preferences and settings
If you delete the Nouri app, all locally stored data will be permanently removed from your device. This data cannot be recovered.
5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal data. The third-party services integrated in Nouri are:
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |

If you decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, no data is shared with any advertising or attribution services. You can change your tracking preference at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
6. Health Data Disclaimer
Nouri provides nutrition estimates and personalized food grades based on AI analysis. This information is intended for general wellness and informational purposes only.
- Nouri is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Nutrition estimates (calories, macronutrients, ingredient identification) are AI-generated approximations and may not be fully accurate
- Allergy and ingredient detection is based on available product data and AI analysis, which may contain errors. Do not rely solely on Nouri for allergy or medical dietary decisions
- Always consult a qualified healthcare professional, dietitian, or allergist for medical dietary guidance

8. Children's Privacy
Nouri is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has used Nouri and provided personal data, contact us at hello@e2partners.co.

10. International Data Transfers
When you use the scan or chat features, data is transmitted to OpenAI's servers, which are located in the United States. This transfer is necessary to provide the AI-powered food analysis service. The transfer is conducted over encrypted HTTPS connections and is governed by OpenAI's API data usage policy, which includes zero-data-retention for API inputs.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or United Arab Emirates, your use of the scan and chat features constitutes consent to this transfer. You may use Nouri's barcode scanning feature (which queries Open Food Facts, a European-based service) without triggering a transfer to US-based services.
11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- All user preferences, health data, and scan history are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage
- All data transmitted to third-party services (OpenAI, RevenueCat, Open Food Facts) is sent over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections
- Purchase transactions are handled securely by Apple through their encrypted payment infrastructure
- API keys are stored securely and are not exposed in the app's client-side code
- No personal data is stored on E2 Partners' servers, eliminating the risk of server-side data breaches affecting your personal information
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app's features, third-party services, or applicable laws. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or our website. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
